We are currently experiencing the The Covid Chronicles along with the rest of the world in Sonic Ctrl. What better time than the present to release our first ever self-titled album!?
Since being in iso and getting rather rudely thrashed around by Covid-19, it has dawned on me that we have strictly been a pandemic era only band. It's an odd feeling and thought to have considering many brilliant bands and artists have left the industry because of Covid-19. More so, because it's the only world we've known since forming in early 2020.
We've been up against the obvious in our musical pursuit, but the germy disease has not been the main antagonist the band has been battling as a zealous rock and roll group.
Why does age have to matter in the music world as much as it does? This anti-ageing message that's embedded throughout our wider culture is something we (Sonic Ctrl) are rapidly acting towards turning upside down and inside out.
SO! As a diversely aged rock band we are proud and bloody excited to introduce (soon) our eclectic indie rock self-titled album to the world with the message that rock and roll is ageless and inclusivity trumps whatever is currently trending.
